In alignment with the latest changes from the State and County health departments, as well as CAL/Osha, Crossroads will no longer require individuals who test positive for COVID to automatically isolate for five days. Please see our updated policy below.
COVID Positive With Symptoms
Individuals who test positive for COVID and have symptoms may only return to school when these criteria are met:
Must be fever free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication
Must wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days after symptoms began
Symptoms must be mild and improving
COVID Positive With No Symptoms
Individuals who test positive for COVID and have no symptoms may come to school provided they wear a well-fitting, high-quality respiratory mask whenever around other people for 10 days following their positive test result.
Strongly Recommended: All employees and students are strongly recommended to be up-to-date on the COVID-19 vaccination.
Any time a student or employee exhibits a new onset of symptoms consistent with COVID-19, we recommend that they test with either a PCR-based or antigen test.
Masking: Masks are optional for those who have not tested positive for COVID-19.
Handwashing: Regular handwashing should occur throughout the school day. Please continue frequent handwashing at home.
Air filtration: All Crossroads facilities air filtration systems have been upgraded. Some smaller locations also have an air filtration machine in the room.
“WHAT IF…” SITUATIONS & OTHER FAQ
What if my child is sick?
If your child is exhibiting new symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the flu or a cold, we recommend that they test them for COVID with either a PCR-based or antigen test. Please report infectious illnesses to the school nurse in your child’s division.
What symptoms would warrant my child staying home?
- Fever of 100.4 F or over
- Diarrhea and/or vomiting
- Lethargy and/or fatigue
While regular attendance is important, it is also important not to send a sick child to school. Keep your child home to rest and recover, rather than risk worsening the condition or spreading the infection to teachers and classmates. Your child must be fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing agents before returning to school. Students who are vomiting or have diarrhea must go home and stay home for 24 hours, or until free of vomiting and/or diarrhea for at least 24 hours without medication.
